Joe Black Barbershop: Safe Reopening – Supplying Staff & Clients with Masks & Additional PPE Equipment, Protocols

Texas Governor Greg Abbott last week announced that hair salons and barbershops could open with a limited capacity on May 8, but if you’re like some Texas residents, you might still have a few questions.

One of those questions may be what are barbershops in the Pearland and the Houston metro area doing to ensure the safety of those who enter?

Well, we can only speak for Joe Black Barbershop, but the short answer is that we reopened our doors on Friday, May 8, providing professional services as always – but with more detailed and increased sanitary standards.

We have implemented safety protocols and guidelines as listed by leading local, state, national health organizations, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Listed below are just a few things that Joe Black Barbershop is doing:

  • Barber work stations are properly distanced

  • Purchased PPE equipment & masks for all staff & clients

  • Temperature Checks of all clients upon entry into the barbershop
  • Joe Black Barbershop Temperature Check
  • Requiring all clients to wash or sanitize their hands before services
  • The waiting area is no longer available – customers now wait in their vehicles until their barber is ready to provide the service

In addition, Joe Black Barbershop has implemented quality control measures. Services are done on an Appointment Only basis.

At Joe Black Barbershop, the safety of our clients and staff is our No. 1 priority.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban recently put the state of Texas to the test in regards to businesses adhering to the guidelines set forth for reopening Texas…and the overall results were not good.

Cuban hired secret shoppers to check and see if businesses were actually following the guidelines.

According to the data supplied by Shiftsmart, the company Cuban contracted, approximately 96 percent of the businesses visited were “non-compliant” across all mandatory protocols and all locations.

We bring this to your attention just to let you know that Joe Black Barbershop is among that percentage strictly adhering to the reopening guidelines. We want everyone to be safe.

Thank you so much…and as always: It’s Not Just A Haircut…It’s A Joe Black!
